Wells Fargo not working? Bank confirms 'intermittent issues'
View Date:2024-12-23 20:23:03
Wells Fargo customers continued to report various issues with the banking system Friday, with some unable to complete transactions with their credit cards and the payment app Zelle.
"We are aware that some customers are experiencing intermittent issues with certain transactions. Our teams are working diligently to resolve. We apologize for any inconvenience," reads a statement from spokesperson Hilary O'Byrne shared Thursday afternoon, when the reports began.
One of Wells Fargo's accounts on X, formerly Twitter, acknowledged that some online banking customers have been unable to complete transfers or Zelle transactions. Other posts from the account said credit card transactions have been "incorrectly declined" and that some account balances may be affected.
The website Downdetector showed a sharp uptick in people reporting problems with Wells Fargo’s website Thursday afternoon, with a smaller number of reports continuing Friday morning. Wells Fargo's X account on Thursday said its team was "working to resolve this issue as quickly as they can" but "as of now, we do not have a timeframe."
Wells Fargo said affected customers can call a banker anytime at 1-800-869-3557 for additional assistance.
The issues follow an incident earlier this month in which some customers were unable to see recent deposits.
